Terms of Service
1. Introduction
1.1 Welcome to Ripple
Thank you for choosing Ripple, a premium matchmaking platform built to help individuals find a serious, committed life partner. Ripple is not a casual dating app - it is designed for people who are ready for marriage. These Terms of Use (the "Terms") describe your rights and responsibilities when using the Ripple mobile application and related services (collectively, "Ripple" or "the Service"). By using Ripple, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines we provide.
1.2 Acceptance of Terms
These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Luminix LLC. By creating an account or using any part of the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. To withdraw this agreement, you must close your account.
1.3 Important Sections
We encourage you to read the full Terms, but here are some key sections to pay attention to:
- Subscription, Billing, and Payments: Section 8
- Your Account and Profile: Section 7
- Community and Conduct Rules: Section 13
- Our Right to Change or Stop the Service: Sections 15, 16, 17, and 18
- Your Responsibility and Our Liability Limits: Sections 20 and 24
- Dispute Resolution: Section 29
1.4 Related Policies
These Terms work together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your personal information. We may also introduce additional guidelines for specific features, and those will be communicated to you as needed.
2. About Us
2.1 Who We Are
Ripple is operated by Luminix LLC, a company incorporated in the United States.
2.2 Our Mission
Ripple exists to help serious candidates find meaningful, lasting partnerships. We are a matchmaking platform - not a swiping app. Candidates are matched by Ripple matchmakers or through verified community flows, and no one can see another person's profile until a match is officially made.
2.3 Third-Party Services
To deliver our Service, we work with trusted third-party providers for things like authentication, cloud storage, email and SMS delivery, and payment processing. Where relevant, their terms may also apply to you.
3. Contact Us
For questions, support, or concerns, please reach out to us at:
- Email: support@luminix-app.com
We aim to respond to all inquiries promptly. For account-specific issues, please include your registered email or phone number when writing to us.
4. How We Communicate With You
4.1 How We Reach You
We will contact you using the email address or phone number linked to your account. By creating an account, you agree to receive important communications from us, including account updates and legally required notices.
4.2 Keeping Your Info Current
It is your responsibility to keep your contact details up to date. If your email or phone number changes, please update your account settings right away so you do not miss important messages from us.
4.3 Marketing Messages
With your consent, we may send you promotional messages about new features or updates. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages.
5. Definitions
Throughout these Terms, the following words have specific meanings:
- User means any person who accesses or uses the Service.
- Candidate means a registered user who is looking for a match through the platform.
- Matchmaker means a verified individual on the platform who reviews candidates and facilitates matches.
- Community means a group of candidates managed under a specific Community Admin, often tied to an organization or institution.
- User Content means any information, photos, text, or other material you submit to the platform.
6. Who Can Use Ripple
6.1 Basic Requirements
To use Ripple, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Not be barred from using the Service under any applicable law.
- Not have had a Ripple account previously closed due to a violation of these Terms.
- Not have been convicted of a violent, sexual, or hate-related offense.
6.2 Personal Use Only
Ripple is for your personal, individual use only. You may not use the platform to promote a business, recruit users for another service, or for any other commercial purpose.
6.3 Device Compatibility
Using Ripple requires a compatible mobile device and internet connection. We are not responsible for any issues caused by outdated hardware, software, or connectivity problems on your end.
7. Creating an Account
7.1 Registration
To use Ripple, you must create an account. During registration, you will be asked to provide your name, email address, phone number, and other profile details. You must verify your email and phone number through our one-time code (OTP) system before gaining full access.
7.2 Account Security
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe. Do not share your account with anyone. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately at support@luminix-app.com.
7.3 Accurate Information
All information in your account must be truthful, complete, and kept up to date. Providing false information may result in account suspension or termination.
7.4 One Account Per Person
Each person may only create one account for themselves. You may not create an account on behalf of someone else. Accounts may not be shared or transferred to another person.
8. Payments and Verification Fee
8.1 Verification Fee
Before your profile is fully activated and eligible for matching, you are required to pay a one-time, non-refundable verification fee of $0.99. This fee is processed through our payment partner and confirms your intent to participate seriously on the platform.
8.2 Payment Processing
All payments are handled through our third-party payment processor. By completing a payment, you authorize us to charge the amount to your selected payment method. We do not store your full payment details on our servers.
8.3 No Refunds
All payments made on Ripple, including the verification fee, are non-refundable unless required by applicable law. By completing a payment, you acknowledge and accept this policy.
8.4 Price Changes
We may update our pricing in the future. We will notify you in advance of any price changes. Continued use of the Service after a price change takes effect means you accept the new price. If you do not agree, you may close your account before the change applies.
9. Closing Your Account
9.1 How to Close Your Account
You may close your account at any time by following these steps:
- Log in to your Ripple account.
- Go to the Account section of your profile.
- Select "Close Account" and follow the on-screen steps to confirm.
If you have trouble closing your account, please contact us at support@luminix-app.com and we will assist you.
9.2 What Happens When You Close Your Account
Once your account is closed:
- Your access to the Service will end immediately.
- Your profile will no longer be visible to other users or matchmakers.
- Your profile data, match history, and messages will be deleted within a reasonable period, unless we are required by law to keep certain records.
9.3 Reactivation
If you change your mind within six months of closing your account, you may contact us to request reactivation. We will make reasonable efforts to restore your account. After six months, your data may be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
10. Your Profile and Content
10.1 What You Can Share
Ripple allows you to create a personal profile that includes your name, age, photos, background, lifestyle details, and matching preferences. This information is used to help us find you a compatible match.
10.2 You Own Your Content
You retain ownership of everything you post on Ripple. However, by submitting content to us, you grant Ripple a limited, non-exclusive license to use it for the purpose of running the matchmaking service, improving the platform, and communicating with you.
10.3 Content Rules
All content you post must follow our Community Standards (Section 13). You may not post anything that:
- Is false, misleading, or does not represent you.
- Infringes on someone else's rights or privacy.
- Contains inappropriate or offensive material.
- Violates any applicable law.
10.4 Profile Visibility
Your profile is private by default. Other users cannot search for or browse your profile. Profiles are only shared when a formal match has been made by a matchmaker or through the platform's matching system. Your contact information is never shared without your consent.
10.5 Accuracy
You are responsible for keeping your profile information accurate and current. We rely on the information you provide to facilitate matches, and inaccurate profiles undermine the experience for everyone.
10.6 Content Moderation
We reserve the right to review and remove any content that violates these Terms or our Community Standards. This may be done through automated tools or human review. Repeated violations may result in warnings, restrictions, or account termination.
11. Privacy and How We Use Your Data
11.1 Your Privacy Matters
We collect and use your personal information to provide the matchmaking service, improve the platform, and communicate with you. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on how your data is handled.
11.2 Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted storage and secure transmission. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe.
11.3 Sensitive Information
Ripple stores certain personal details (such as name, email, and phone number) in encrypted form. We take extra care with sensitive information and limit access to it within our systems.
11.4 Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When your account is closed, we will delete or anonymize most of your data within a reasonable period, subject to any legal requirements.
11.5 Children's Privacy
Ripple is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will take steps to delete that account and associated data immediately.
12. Community Admins and Matchmakers
12.1 Their Role
Ripple operates with a network of verified Matchmakers and Community Admins who help facilitate the matchmaking process. Matchmakers review candidate profiles, propose matches, and support candidates through the process. Community Admins manage candidates within a specific community group.
12.2 Access to Your Profile
Matchmakers and Community Admins assigned to your community may have access to your profile information as needed to facilitate matches. This access is limited to what is necessary and is governed by our internal policies.
12.3 Account Actions
Community Admins may, in certain circumstances, suspend or remove candidates from their community if there is a violation of these Terms or community standards. Any such action is subject to the same review and appeals process described in Section 14.
12.4 Matchmaker and Admin Independence
Matchmakers and Community Admins are independent participants on the platform, not employees or agents of Luminix LLC. Ripple is not responsible for the individual actions of matchmakers or admins beyond what is described in these Terms.
13. Community Standards and Rules
13.1 Our Expectations
Ripple is a respectful, serious matchmaking environment. All users are expected to treat each other with kindness, honesty, and dignity. The platform is built for people who are genuinely looking for a committed life partner, and we ask everyone to honor that purpose.
13.2 What We Expect From You
- Be honest and accurate in your profile and conversations.
- Communicate respectfully with matches and platform staff.
- Respect the privacy of other users.
- Use the platform only for its intended purpose - finding a serious match.
- Report any violations or concerns to us in good faith.
13.3 Prohibited Behavior
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and may result in account suspension or permanent removal:
- Harassment, bullying, or intimidating other users.
- Sending repeated unwanted messages after a user has indicated they are not interested.
- Using a fake identity, fake photos, or misrepresenting your personal details.
- Attempting to find out or share another user's personal information without their consent.
- Using the platform to promote a business, product, or external service.
- Sending spam or unsolicited bulk messages.
- Engaging in or encouraging any illegal activity.
- Uploading inappropriate, explicit, or offensive photos or content.
- Attempting to reverse-engineer, hack, or misuse the platform's software or data.
- Taking screenshots of other users' profiles or match information.
13.4 Photo Guidelines
- Photos must be recent, clear, and show you as the primary subject.
- Photos must be modest and appropriate for a serious matchmaking environment.
- Using someone else's photo, a heavily filtered image, or an image designed to mislead is not allowed.
13.5 Profile Content
- Your profile should honestly represent who you are and what you are looking for.
- Do not include external links, social media handles, or promotional content in your profile.
13.6 Consequences of Violations
Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- Remove the content that violates our standards.
- Issue a warning to your account.
- Temporarily restrict certain features.
- Permanently suspend or close your account without a refund.
14. Reporting Issues and Appeals
14.1 How to Report a Problem
If you experience or witness behavior that violates these Terms, please report it through the in-app "Report Issue" feature or by emailing us at support@luminix-app.com. All reports should be made in good faith. False or malicious reports may result in action against the reporting account.
14.2 How We Handle Reports
Our team reviews all reports and will take action based on the nature and severity of what is reported. This may include removing content, warning users, or closing accounts. We may use both automated systems and human review in this process.
14.3 Appealing a Decision
If you believe your content was removed or your account was closed in error, you may appeal by contacting us at support@luminix-app.com. Appeals will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and we aim to respond within 30 days.
15. Changes to the Service
Ripple is always improving. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. For significant changes that affect your use of the Service, we will notify you by email or through the app. If you do not agree with a change, you may close your account.
16. If We Stop the Service
Ripple reserves the right to shut down all or part of the Service. If this happens and it is not due to any fault of yours, we will provide advance notice by email and will do our best to help you understand what options you have.
17. Our Intellectual Property
All content, design, software, and branding on Ripple - including our name, logo, and app - is owned by or licensed to Luminix LLC and is protected by intellectual property law. You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own matchmaking purposes. You may not copy, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without our written permission.
18. Temporary Service Interruptions
We may need to temporarily pause access to the Service for maintenance, updates, or legal reasons. Where possible, we will give you advance notice. In urgent cases, we may need to act without prior notice but will work to restore access quickly.
19. What We Owe You
Ripple is committed to providing a high-quality, well-maintained service. We take reasonable care to ensure the platform works as intended. However, we are still actively developing the app and there may be occasional bugs or downtime. We aim to resolve issues quickly.
Ripple facilitates connections between users but is not responsible for the behavior or conduct of individual users. We do not verify every claim made in a user's profile and do not guarantee the accuracy of any user-provided information.
20. Limits on Our Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Luminix LLC and its officers, team members, and service providers will not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses (such as lost opportunities, emotional distress, or data loss).
- Any amount exceeding the greater of $100 or the total amount you have paid to Ripple in the past 12 months.
- Any situation outside our reasonable control.
These limits apply regardless of the legal basis for the claim. They do not apply in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct directly caused by Ripple.
Any claim against Ripple must be filed within one (1) year of the event that caused it.
21. Feedback and Bug Reports
We welcome your feedback, ideas, and bug reports. You can submit them through the in-app "Report Issue" feature or by emailing support@luminix-app.com. By submitting feedback, you agree that Ripple may use it freely to improve the Service without any obligation to compensate you.
22. Linking to Ripple
You may link to Ripple only in a way that is fair, accurate, and does not damage our reputation. You may not embed or frame the Ripple app or website within another site or application without our permission. We reserve the right to revoke linking permission at any time.
23. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service may include links to or integrations with third-party services. These are provided for convenience only. Ripple does not endorse or control third-party content and is not responsible for anything that happens when you use those services. You use third-party services at your own risk and subject to their own terms.
24. Security and Viruses
We take reasonable steps to keep the platform secure and free from malware. However, we cannot guarantee complete security. You are responsible for keeping your own device and software secure. Ripple is not liable for damage caused to your device or data from security issues encountered through the platform.
25. General Legal Terms
- Severability: If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remains in effect.
- Non-Transferability: You may not transfer your account or your rights under these Terms to anyone else.
- No Waiver: If we do not enforce a provision immediately, that does not mean we give up the right to enforce it later.
- Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Luminix LLC is incorporated.
- Entire Agreement: These Terms and our Privacy Policy make up the complete agreement between you and Ripple.
26. Termination
We may suspend or close your account if we believe you have violated these Terms, misused the platform, or engaged in behavior that harms other users or the integrity of the Service. If your account is closed due to a violation, no refund will be issued.
We may also close accounts for business or operational reasons, in which case we will notify you by email.
27. Disclaimers
Ripple is provided "as is." We make no guarantees that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will result in a match. Matchmaking outcomes are not guaranteed. Any advice or content provided through the Service is for general informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional advice.
28. Your Responsibility to Us
You agree to protect and hold harmless Luminix LLC, its team, and partners from any claims, damages, or costs arising from:
- Your use of the Service.
- Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
- Content you upload or share on the platform.
- Any harm you cause to another user.
29. Resolving Disputes
29.1 Talk to Us First
If you have a dispute with Ripple, please contact us first at support@luminix-app.com. We will try to resolve the issue informally within 60 days. This step is required before pursuing formal dispute resolution.
29.2 Binding Arbitration
If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you and Ripple agree to resolve it through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. Arbitration is typically faster and less expensive than going to court.
29.3 No Class Actions
All disputes must be resolved individually. You may not combine your claim with those of other users in a class action or consolidated proceeding.
29.4 Opt-Out
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of accepting these Terms by sending written notice to support@luminix-app.com. Your notice must include your full name, email address, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration.
29.5 Exceptions
You may still bring claims eligible for small claims court or seek injunctive relief for intellectual property violations without going through arbitration.
29.6 Survival
This arbitration agreement remains in effect even after your account is closed.
30. Electronic Communications
By using Ripple, you consent to receiving electronic communications from us. These may include account notices, service updates, and other information related to your use of the platform.
